My babes turned 3 2 weeks ago. It is hard to believe how old they are!!! We made a birthday countdown and the day before their birthday we ripped the 2nd to last link and explained that since there was only one more left it meant that tomorrow was their birthday. Max immediately ripped the last one and screamed with glee "Now its my birthday!!!" good try buddy... Never the less, morning came and it was an amazing day!
Every b-day and Christmas I try to give the kids each a handmade something so this year Max got bases for when we play baseball outside... we can now stop using our flip flops as bases. We opened gifts first thing in the morning.
Neveah asked me to make her pink skirts so that was her gift... one to wear and one for dress ups

Then to breakfast... I just love how insane Neveah looks every morning.

After breakfast we headed to Gilpin Court for the kick off of the new moms ministry there Sisters in Motherhood. The kids learned lots of stuff in Chara's class while I had an amazing morning with the team of moms getting this thing going! Max also hit it off with one of the teachers names Miss Lauren, he came home telling me that Miss Lauren was a sweetie pie :)
After Gilpin we headed home to pick up daddy for our special secret birthday trip!!! We went for 2 days and 1 night to Great Wolf Lodge!!! If you ask me about it I will give you the full commercial. I have to say that we have spent a lot of money lately on getting this house ready, but that is the best $ we have spent in a long time. We decided in the spring that it would be our b-day tradition that instead of buying gifts for the kids we would go to Great Wolf and it did not disappoint. John and I have been spread pretty thin lately with the busyness of life, VCU back in session, Sisters in Motherhood starting, and trying to get our new house ready while packing up the old one. All that to say Max and Neveah have been amazingly flexible throughout all of it. There has been a lot of change lately and they have just rolled with it and have been such a blessing to us. It was great having that much un-interrupted quality time with the 4 of us and we definitely made a ton of memories! They were both pretty fearless... the place was filled with water so I dont have many pictures, but we were too busy anyway.

The slides were pretty legit and I really couldn't believe that a) a 3 year old was allowed to go down and b) that my 3 year olds would want to... Max went down this one by himself approx. 15 times and you could always hear him coming because he was shouting "woo hoo" the whole way down.
It was so fun it just made him want to dance.

After a full day of sliding we headed to dinner and of course to Sweet Frog after... thanks to aunt Crissy who introduced the nuggets to all the different topping options that we hadn't exposed them to yet :)
so photogenic

Back to the lodge for the evening story time and a sighting of the wolf! (it took Veah a while to be convinced that they were wolves everywhere and not foxes.

To prove they were so big and mature Max and Neveah spent their first night in a big bed!!! Yes, they have been too old and big for cribs for quite a while, but I just didn't feel like making that change until we were in our new house (yes they were touching all sides of their cribs bc they are so huge). They thought it was hilarious that they were in the same bed and stayed up so late talking and laughing (keeping us awake forever). Veah rolled out of the bed at 3 am, but recovered quickly...
We spent the next day on more slides and rides and all came home exhausted. It was so refreshing for John and I to just spend time laughing and enjoying these 2 little loves.
so SO fun. love y'all and we MUST celebrate these two turning 3 soon! xoxo
