the wagler nest: Happy Birthday Jesus!

Right before Christmas we checked out the lights at Lewis Ginter... The kids were running around like crazy in the bitter cold saying look look look look look... they were quite overwhelmed!

Christmas eve morning the kids helped me finish wrapping some of the presents that they made & then also helped make Jesus's birthday cake. After that we went to Janet's house for the party.
We later went to the Christmas Eve service at church. Jesse the Juggler entertained all the kids and shared the gospel. It was so fun to see our kids finally old enough to go down front with all the others... for the rest of the service they were a little stir crazy, but it could have been worse. They are 2 after all.

This year on one of our date nights John and I had to come up with what we wanted our Christmas traditions to be as a family. Last year they were still so little they didn't comprehend much... So on Christmas morning when they woke up (they slept late as a huge treat to us!) the 4 of us read the Christmas story together & then had a birthday party for Jesus with both sets of grandparents. We sang happy birthday & blew out the candles then ate the yummy breakfast cake.

Then we took a couple min. to open the gifts from John & I before the families & overload of gifts entered the house. Had to take pictures in case they get destroyed!

Max collects things from our walks & will hold them in his fists forever! There is always a pile of sticks, rocks, or acorns beside our front door. Now he has a treasure chest for his special stuff.

Max needed to immediately read his new Adam Raccoon book.

Max felt the need to wear & play with most of his gifts at the same time. At first he would get upset when he would open a gift & then we would take it away so that he could open another one. He finally caught on when he would open a gift, take a look at it & say "woah", then toss it aside for the next one.
