Catching up & pre-birthday

We have been super busy so here are some highlights from what we have been up to.

My favorite conversation of the week:

Max: milk... milk... milk

me: How should you ask?

Max: please

me: good boy (while handing him the milk)

Max: Thank you baby girl.

Honey thinks its fun to dress up Max & Neveah! This isn't the best picture, but the t-shirts were Adam's & mine when we were like 3 & 1 (sad that it fits Max!)

During one of our craft times we made crowns... 2 sets, b/c by the time I went up to get the camera the first ones were ripped up by the rascals.

We went to check out the botanical gardens with Jake & Sara... it was a great day

This is one of my favorite moments of all time! Max just climbed up there on his own and just started talking to John, they were having a real conversation and it was so cute.

John and I have been super busy gearing up for Chi Alpha so we took Fri. as a special family day to spend together at the zoo.

Last time they were a little scared of feeding the animals, but this time they were super brave & got to feed the camels & giraffes! (However, John would not feed the giraffes out of his hand.)

On the way home from the zoo:

John: What animals did you guys see today at the zoo?

Max & Neveah proceeded to name all the different animals that they saw

John: What was your favorite one that you saw today?

Max: goat (pretty sure we see these all the time at Maymont)

Neveah: car (meaning: the golf cart the employees ride it)

Clearly it was money well spent!

Getting ready for the big T W O Birthday!
This week we started preparing for all of the birthday excitement... first by Max getting strep throat :(... only a minor set back once we got some antibiotics. Really though, we went to the library to get some books about birthdays and what happens at a birthday party.

We decided to throw a birthday party for some of Max & Neveah's animals, they chose the teddy bear, pink elephant, & pony. Monday we made our party hats. Tuesday morning we wrapped up the presents which were a truck, shaker, & piece of blue felt.

Tues. afternoon was the big event (it was so funny because they kept talking about it all day). We sang Happy Birthday 3 times, blew out candles, & had birthday cake (lemon cookies compliments of Katie Snook). We read the animals some books about birthday parties & opened gifts. The animals were very grateful!

Fun was had by all who attended our party!
